Legal Regulation of Domain Name in Jordanian Legislation

Abstract

The research showed the legal character of domain names in Jordanian law and presented jurisprudential opinions to determine the legal character of domain names.

It also touched on the foundations of registering and protecting domain names in Jordan, and this research ended with a set of results and recommendations. One of the most important results that the research reached is that the Jordanian legislator did not define a domain name in any of its legislation, and it only mentioned the definition of a website in the Cybercrime Law. Recommendations: The Jordanian legislator should enact special legislation for domain names.
