Abu Hafs al-Kabir al-Hanafi and His Differences In Jurisprudential Issues An Analytical Study According To The Hanafi School of Thought

Abstract

The study sheds light on Abu Hafs al-Kabir and highlights his importance within the limits of the Hanafi school of thought, and explains his differences in jurisprudential issues, and the reasons for these differences through an applied study of the approved books in the school of thought. The study concluded that Abu Hafs al-Kabir is one of the most important figures of the Hanafi school of thought. Because of his important role in transmitting the general rulings of the Hanafi school of thought to Bukhara. He is the one who narrated all the books of Imam Muhammad from him except book al-Siyar al-Kabir. The study showed that Abu Hafs narrated narrations different from other narrators on some issues. These differences are due to the mistakes of the copyists in writing these opinions or due to changes in time, conditions, and secondary causes such as the numerical values determined by fuqaha or the use of a new meaning due to a change in meaning in the use of the word. Or these differences appeared because each narrator relied on the opinions of different imams of school of thoght. The disagreement may arise between the opinions of the imams of Hanafi school of thoght without the opinion of the narrator interfering in it. Or Abu Hafs al-Kabir may be alone in some issues due to his independent ijtihad.
