Abstract

Research Summary

 “The rule of basing the strong on the weak and its applications in the chapter on prayer according to the Hanafi school of thought”

 The rule of “building the strong over the weak” is considered the one that is unique to the Hanafi school of thought over others, and it has many applications in various jurisprudential chapters, including the chapter on prayer, which I chose to be a model for studying this rule and its applications.

 This study aims to clarify the meaning of the rule of “building the strong on the weak,” its legal rooting, and the extent of the discipline of jurisprudential applications on the rule through studying a number of different branches.

 This study concluded that the rule of “building the strong on the weak” is a consistent rule whose applications do not deviate from it except what the text excluded, and had it not been for the text, it would have included the rule of the rule.

 This study also dealt with exceptions to the applications of the rule, and what is imagined to be part of the rule but emerged from its branches due to differences in interpretation.
