Abstract

This research examines Sheikh Muhammad al-Amin al- Shanqeeti’s methodology in addressing hadith discrepancies through his exegesis, Adwa’ al-Bayan fi Idah al-Qur’an bil-Qur’an. The study aims to elucidate the methods he employed to resolve conflicts between textual sources by analyzing instances where differences occur and interpreting his approaches.

Using an inductive approach, the study tracks the specific cases in which al-Shanqeeti engaged with differing hadiths, aiming to extrapolate the methodology he adhered to in his exegesis. The findings reveal al-Shanqeeti’s considerable attention to reconciling hadith variations, with his primary method being the use of multiple evidentiary clues to harmonize conflicting narrations. He also employed preference in various cases and used abrogation in two issues, though he did not resort to suspension.
