تصحيحات العلّامة ابن قُطْلُوْبُغَا لمسائل الوضوء في كتاب شرح النُّقَايَةِ

Abstract

This study explores the main juridical issues corrected by Imam Najm al-Dīn Qāsim ibn Qutlūbughā in the chapter of wuḍū’ in Sharḥ al-Nuqāyah. It tracks each issue, presents the positions of Ḥanafī jurists, identifies the authoritative view of the school, and evaluates how Ibn Qutlūbughā’s conclusions correspond to it.

The findings show that his corrections generally align with the established Ḥanafī doctrine, reflecting his extensive familiarity with primary texts, commentaries, and marginal works across different scholarly generations.

  His method of legal analysis is grounded in four key principles:

1. Surveying issues across major Ḥanafī works.
2. Prioritizing strong narrations from leading jurists.
3. Assessing the scholarly weight and reliability of different authorities.
4. Understanding the hierarchy and textual order of Ḥanafī sources.
