The Role of Programs in Educational Administration in Providing Students with Leadership Competencies and ways to enhance them

Abstract

     This study aims to identify important leadership competencies learned by postgraduates in educational administration programs of Palestinian universities, to reveal the significant differences between the averages of the study sample members' assessment of the level of these skills depending on the following classification variables: (sex, job, university, program). The researcher followed the descriptive –analytical approach, using a questionnaire and Focus Group. It's applied to 186 graduates of administration Programs in (Islamic University, Al Aqsa, Azhar and Open Jerusalem). The results show that leadership skills have a high relative weight (72.96%), and showed no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample members due to sex, or program. In the light of the results, a group of experts in educational administration have been involved in proposing ways to strengthen the role of postgraduate programs in educational administration.
