Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the extent to which the countries in which the Arab Spring took place applied the principles of the welfare state, and to identify the extent to which the Arab Spring revolutions were able to achieve the demands of the welfare state. The study applied the content analysis approach by analyzing the content of the protests during the Arab Spring in the electronic media, where the content of the following documentaries was analyzed: Tunisia, the Revolution of Dignity, the series of diaries of the Egyptian revolution - on January 25, the Libyan revolution, a program in depth - the consequences of the revolution in Yemen, Talk of the revolution - questions about the beginning of the Syrian revolution and its consequences, a case for discussion: the Sudanese revolution and the challenges of transition and rebuilding the state. An analytical table was designed to measure the number of repetitions of the most prominent protesters' demands that were included in the videos. The results revealed that the themes of the claims included; Demands for the overthrow of the regime, the eradication of poverty and unemployment, corruption, and a demand for improving the level of education and health care. The results also emphasized the relationship between economic and social problems and the failure of the welfare system and the prevailing rule in them. Social in shipping and mobilization.
