Abstract

The study aimed to identify the extent to which correction and rehabilitation centers in Jordan apply international standards in the treatment of inmates and their repercussions on the inmate, through a statement of international conventions and treaties dealing with the treatment of prisoners issued by the United Nations and international organizations, The results of the study concluded that the Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Law is largely compatible with international agreements in the treatment of inmates, as this appeared in giving inmates many rights, including health care, and cultural and educational rehabilitation, And the right to communicate with the outside world, communicate with a lawyer, view the indictment against him, practice religious rites, transportation, and be informed of death and serious illness, Food, housing, social care, and access to the media, and based on the findings of the study, a set of recommendations related to the subject of the study was formulated.
