Abstract

Abstract

This research sheds light on an aspect of Ibn Al-Roumi's poetry, and studies the cultural features in it in a linguistic and civilizational study, and deals with the following topics: -

1. The language of the poet, and the capacity of his language directory.
2. The colors of foods and drinks in his time; chips, candies, fatty foods, fruit, nuts, and other descriptive topics such as clothes, ornaments, beside singing and drinking gatherings.

And because the nature of the subject, I found out the using the descriptive, analytical and historical approach is the suitable approach to achieve the research targets.

Finally, this study had shed the light on an important aspect of Ibn Rumi poetry which is the cultural side, a side that was very much neglected by other researchers regardless of the few who paid a slight attention to it.
