THE DEGREE OF MOTHERS' SATISFACTION WITH EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS FOR THEIR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IN THE GOVERNNORATE OF AMMAN

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the degree of mothers' satisfaction with the early intervention programs provided to their children with disabilities in the city of Amman.

 The study sample consisted of (203) mothers who were selected using the available sample method, and to achieve the objective of the study, the descriptive survey approach was used and the mother’s satisfaction scale was applied.

The results of the study showed a moderate degree of mothers’ satisfaction with early intervention programs. It was also found that there were statistically significant differences in favor of children enrolled in private sector centres compared to government sector centres, and in favour of younger mothers compared to older mothers.

The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the impact of the disability category in two dimensions of the scale.

The results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences due to the impact of income and in favor of high-income families, and the impact of the mother's level of education, and in favor of the two levels of education "diploma and bachelor's" compared to the level of " high secondary education or less ".

 Finally, the study recommended the necessity to increase the participation of mothers in early intervention programs.
