فحص الأداء التفاضلي لفقرات أداة تقييم الأداء التدريسي تبعاً لمتغير المستوى الدراسي في جامعة اليرموك باستخدام طريقة مانتل- هانزل العام

Abstract

      The study aimed at examining differential items functioning (DIF) in teaching performance evaluation at Yarmouk University according to the educational level from the students' perspective using the Mantel-Hansel method. To achieve the aims of the study, the data was obtained from Yarmouk University. This data set was collected during the summer semester of the academic year 2015/ 2016. The total number of the analyzed data was of (7343) questionnaire. The results showed that one  item  showed differential functioning according to students’ Educational Level in favor for the fourth level students compared to second level students, when calculating the size of DIF for the item showed DIF according to Educational Level in the instrument used at Yarmouk University, it was found that there is no effect for the items showing DIF.

      The results of the study also indicated that removing the item with DIF in the instrument adopted at Yarmouk University according to educational level significantly improves goodness of fit indices of the instrument and thus in the preparation of items. The study recommended the need for universities to pay more attention to assess the quality of instruments with respect to DIF when preparing these instruments
