Abstract

This study handles a reading of syntactic thought in (illa al-ghayria) that includes the description's meaning in Allah saying:" law kana feehima alihatun illa allahu lafasadata "; which means: "If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both!".

The syntactic thought here represents both the syntactic origin and its argument in the restrictions of (illa)'s description. It also guides some evidences that (illa) does as well as (ghayr).

In conclusion, the exit of (illa) out of its meaning is considered an interpretation to make it closer to recipients. Still there's a regard to measure (illa) as well as (ghayr) in the previous verse of the Holly Quran; because there is no difference in their meaning.
