Abstract
The study aims to deal with a historical event in a comparative manner between two accounts. The historical event (Safar Berlak) refers to the general mobilization that was imposed at the end of the Ottoman Empire, and the study presents the vision of two different authors who dealt with the historical event: the novel "Safar Berlak and the Paths of the Wilderness" by Suleiman Qawabeh, and the novel "Safar Berlak - The Tale of the Khalasi Boy Theeb" by Maqbool Al-Alawi. The events of the two novels are based on the positions of two heroes who are exposed to the dilemma of engaging in Berlak's journey, where the structure of the two novels crystallizes in the light of historical circumstances in a narrative artistic style. Two themes that are represented in the social and economic features, and detailing the general conditions of life of Arab societies in that period.
