This study aims at exploring the impact of repetition, its artistic and objective functions on the art of short story, mainly in The Gypsies and the Girl Collection as a Model. Repetition is a prominent linguistic and stylistic phenomenon that distinguishes the prose and poetry of modern literature. This collection of short stories, which was written by the Jordanian storyteller, Jawaher Al-Rafayah, in the early 1990s, embodies a remarkable manifestation of this phenomenon, therefore, it was chosen as a model in this critical analytical study. Through this collection, the study analyzes the role of repetition and its importance in achieving objective, aesthetic and structural values within the narrative text in general, and the short story in particular.
