Future anxiety and its relationship to the level of ambition of football referees of the first and second class referees in the Saudi League

Abstract

The research aims to identify the relationship between future anxiety and the level of ambition among football referees in the Saudi League, and the differences between first- and second-class football referees in future anxiety and the level of ambition in the Saudi League. The researchers relied on the descriptive approach through a reference survey. The study sample consisted of (54) first-class referees and (87) second-class referees. The most important results indicated that there is a statistically significant negative correlation between all dimensions of future anxiety (physical anxiety, psychomotor anxiety, cognitive anxiety), and the level of ambition (optimism in the future, ability to set future goals, tolerance for failure and frustration), among football referees to the degree The first and second division in the Saudi League, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the first and second division football referees in concerns about the future in the Saudi League, and these differences are in the direction of the second division football referees, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the first and second division football referees in the level of sporting ambition in the Saudi League and these differences.
