Abstract

This study aimed to analyze some kinematic variables of the smash and their relationship with reaction time and shooting accuracy in volleyball players. The researcher used the descriptive method due to its suitability for the nature and objectives of this study. The study population consisted of the national volleyball team players, totaling 12 players aged between 18 and 30 years during the 2021/2022 season. The researcher deliberately selected a study sample from the Jordanian national team, consisting of one player who occupies the center position. The researcher conducted four consecutive tests for the four positions (shooting from a stationary position, shooting with one step, shooting with two converging steps, and shooting with three converging steps) without rest periods between them. The Kinovea program was used for motion analysis.

The study results showed differences between the kinematic variables for all tests and indicated a relationship between reaction time and converging steps. The relationship was found to be positive between reaction time, shooting accuracy, and converging steps. The researcher recommends developing training programs for players that focus on reaction time and accuracy to improve performance.
