Abstract

This study inspects Al-Ghzawiyah family of Jabal (Mount) Ajloun in the second Mamluk state (874-923 AH/1382-1771 AD) and the family leaders and their participation in the events. It also explores the position of the Mamluk sultans and deputies of Damascus tward them, in addition to the military campaigns which they launched against Jabal Ajloun and what the destruction which followed.

The research also sheds light on the family leaders during the Ottoman State (1516-1524 AD) and their relations with the Otthman Sultans and the governor of Al-Sham indicating their rivalry to rule the Ajloun district, in addition to their relations with the local powers particularly Prince Faker al-Deen al-Ma'ni the prince of Al-Shuf, Farroukh Family the princes of Jerusalem and Nablus districts, Al Tarbay the prices of Al-Lajoun district with the consequences thereof.
