فاعلية برنامج إرشادي معرفي سلوكي للأمهات في خفض أعراض سلوك العناد عند أطفالهن التوحديين في محافظة الزرقاء

Abstract

       The present study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral counseling program. This program is introduced for mothers who have autistic children with stubborn behavior and enrolled in the special education centers in Zarqa Governorate. The sample consisted of forty mothers. For the purpose of the study, two tools have been developed: the measure of obstinacy which consists of (36) paragraphs, and a behavioral cognitive counselling program that consists of (13) counselling sessions. This has been implemented for five weeks. The results have shown the effectiveness of the program for the mothers to reduce the level of stubbornness of their autistic children. In light of the results achieved by the study, the researcher recommends the use of the cognitive behavioral counselling program for the autistic children with stubborn behavior. The researcher also recommends further studies be conducted.
