Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the intellectual life in Al Madina Al Monawara during the period 1661-1663 A.D, depending mainly on travel by Abu Salem Ayyashi to Hijaz during that period to perform Hajj and visit the Prophet’s Mosque and other religious places. it is considered the most important visit because the author relied on collecting the information on his observations, as well as on a number of written sources, whether historical, religious or geographical .

The study is divided into five parts; the first part is about the scientists who live near The Prophet's Mosque and the second part is about the scientific discussions , discussions and jurisprudential opinions that were attended by Al Ayyashi and the discussion that took place on various subjects in addition to the diversity of the scientific community from hearing the Hadith, interpretation, jurisprudence, reading and other sciences. The third and fourth parts discussthe Libraries and scientific licenses that Al Ayyashi had obtained. The fifth part dealt with arts and poetry, where it became clear that the relationship between travel and literature is close since travel forms an important source of literary texts of poetry and Prose.
