Level of Future Anxiety among Amputated at Al-Hussein Medical City in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the level of future anxiety among a sample of amputees in Al Hussein Medical City in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach through a questionnaire consisting of (34) items administrated on sample of (260) individuals. The Findings showed that; the level of future anxiety among the sample was high, further, there were no significant differences due to the effect of gender in all domains except the physical domain, in favor of males, there were no significant differences due to the educational level in all domains. There were significant statistical differences between congenital on the one hand and each of accident and chronic disease on the other hand, in favor of each of accident and chronic disease in the cognitive domain, the physical domain, the social domain, the economic domain and scale as a whole. There were significant statistical differences between chronic disease on the one hand and each of congenital and accident on the other hand, in favor of chronic disease in the emotional domain.
