Abstract

This study attempts to examine the manifestations of the objective correlative theory in Abi Tuayb's ع-rhymed elegy. The researchers noticed that theses manifestations were best represented through the poetic scenes (poetic images) in which the poet revealed his fundamental issue of  the  inevit ability of death. He evoked this sense in his three poetic scenes: the zebra and the hunter, the wild bull the stray dogs and the hunter, in addition to the strife of the two knights. The end of each of them was death despite the struggle to survive. This is exactly what the researchers noted in the opening scene of the poem in which the poet laments his children, Therefore, hence transferring the concern from the private to the public.
