The Effectiveness of a Group Counseling Program Based on the Mind/Body Model in Strengthening the Emotional Regulation and psychological hardiness among teachers in private schools in Amman.

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a counseling program based on the mind-body model in strengthening emotional regulation and psychological toughness among private school teachers in Amman Governorate. The study sample consisted of (30) female teachers. They were randomly distributed into two groups, an experimental group consisting of (15) female teachers, and a control group consisting of (15) female teachers. The scale of emotional regulation and psychological hardiness was applied. These scales were developed for the purposes of the study, and their validity and reliability were verified. Applying a counseling program consisting of (13) sessions, one session per week, to the experimental group.

The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0.05) between the performance averages of the experimental and control groups on the scale of emotional regulation and psychological hardiness attributed to the counseling program, meaning that the program led to strengthening emotional regulation and psychological hardiness, and the differences were in favor of the experimental group, and the results indicated that there was no There are statistically significant differences between the averages of the experimental group’s performance in the post-application and follow-up in emotional regulation and psychological hardiness, which indicates the continuity of the program’s effect.
