Abstract

This research examines the role of proverbs in behavioral and moral guidance among Arabs, using an applied study of the Encyclopedia of Arabic Proverbs. WITHE THE HIDDEN CURRICULUM The aim of this research is to shed light on the role of the Arabic proverb in encouraging good morals and positive behavior, as well as its role in warning against immoral and ugly behavior. It also highlights the Arabs' keenness to employ all creative texts and their sources of wisdom to achieve noble morals.

This research follows the steps of the descriptive-analytical approach, beginning with identifying proverbs relevant to the research topic from the Encyclopedia of Arabic Proverbs, then discussing and analyzing them, leading to the conclusions.

The research is divided into three parts. The first discusses proverbs and their impact on the recipient, while the second discusses the role of proverbs in encouraging noble morals and good behavior. The third discusses the role of proverbs in warning against immoral and ugly behavior. The research reached a number of conclusions, the most prominent of which is that proverbs play an effective role in guiding the collective mind toward good morals and warning against bad morals. This is based on their being rooted in profound human experience and their ability to strongly influence the recipient, given their concise and effective nature.
