This research aims to examine the artistic structure in Abu al-Atahiyah’s ascetic poems, taking his Hamziyah poem as a model for study, in an attempt to identify the elements that the poet employed in forming this structure and including the messages he conveyed in this poem. The research was organized into three sections that dealt with the artistic image, the structural construction, and the musical construction as key elements in the construction of the poetic text, relying on the stylistic approach. It concluded that Abu al-Atahiyah employed these elements in a way that contributed to achieving the poem’s preaching and ascetic purpose.
