Abstract

Techniques of linguistic discourse in the poetry of Amara Al-Yamani

The poem "Oh Ears of the Days” as a model

      This study aims to identify the linguistic discourse techniques in the poetry of Amara Al-Yamani, and to elucidate the linguistic expression devices he has used in his poem "Oh Ears of the Days". The study was based on four areas: the initiation discourse, the persuasive discourse, the discourse of actions, and the discourse of oppression and suffering in the poem. In an attempt by the researcher in this study to reveal the usage of these techniques in the poet's poetic text, and to highlight their significance within their rhetorical linguistic context in the poem.
