Levels of Postpartum and Baby Blues Among a Sample of Women in Jordan and Relationship to Some Variables

Abstract

 

The current study aimed to know the levels of baby blues among a sample of women in Jordan, the study sample included 415 women from all governorates of Jordan and the ages ranged between 20-45 years, it is the reproductive stage, the sample was chosen in an accessible way, a scale was developed to measure the levels of baby blues and postpartum it was distributed electronically through the google forum, the results of the study showed that the level of baby blues was medium level, and there is a statistically significant effect of the age variable on the baby blues, and there is no statistically significant effect of the variable number of children, and that the period of symptoms of low mood after birth was in the first days and weeks since birth this indicates suffering from baby blues not postpartum, and that 93.3% of these women did not receive psychological care services. The study recommended raising public awareness about baby blues and providing psychological support for women in childbearing
