The Role of Information Technology in Improving the Financial Performance of Saudi Companies

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the role of information technology in improving the financial performance of Saudi companies. The analytical descriptive approach was used. The study population consisted of all Saudi companies listed on the stock exchange. The sample consisted of Saudi industrial companies. The financial reports of these companies were relied on in the years (2013- 2022) The study reached a number of results, most notably:
There is a statistically significant effect at the level of significance (α = 0.05) for the application of information technology in the financial performance measured by indicators (return on assets, return on equity, return on sales) in Saudi companies, and there is a statistically significant effect at the level of significance (α = 0.05) for applying information technology to the return on assets in Saudi companies. The study recommended the need to increase the financial performance of companies by encouraging investment in Saudi companies, and providing cash liquidity that helps the executive management to invest in investment projects.
