The Impact of Succession Planning on Organizational Excellence in Jordanian Islamic Banks
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the impact of Succession Planning on Organizational Excellence in Jordanian Islamic Banks (JIB). The study targeted managers at top and middle levels in the three JIB. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach to achieve the aim of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire for data collecting purposes and the study relied on a proportional stratified random sample of (214) manager out of the whole population of (480) manager. Out of (250) questionnaires distributed to the managers, (196) valid questionnaires were returned with a response rate of (91.6%).
The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant impact of Succession Planning with its all dimensions (Process and Change Management, Selection of Successor, Development of Successor) on Organizational Excellence with its all dimensions (Leadership Excellence, Strategy Excellence, Human Resources Excellence, Organizational Culture Excellence) in JIB.
The study recommended that it is important for JIB to plan early for their needs of workforce, therefore they sustain the work which is essential for survival and excellence. as well as to ensure offering an environment that supports creativity in order to achieve excellence, provide equal opportunities for employees to develop their jobs without discrimination, and emphasize the involvement of employees in decision-making processes.
