Strategic Alliance and its Impact on Process Re-engineering: The Moderating Role of Quality of Work Life at Jordanian Mining and Extraction Companies

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of strategic alliance on process re-engineering and the moderating role of quality of work life at Jordanian mining and extraction companies. The strategic alliance was measured through four dimensions: alliance formation, strategic congruence, adaptation and willingness to learn, and process re-engineering was measured through four dimensions: process analysis, process design, process implementation and process follow-up. The study targeted managers at the upper and middle levels at Jordanian extractive and mining companies, which numbered (347). The study was conducted on a stratified proportional sample of (196) managers. The necessary data were collected from them through a questionnaire developed for this purpose. The study also used the quantitative descriptive method.

     The study reveald that there are medium levels for the three study variables, and there is a statistically significant impact of strategic alliance on re-engineering process at Jordanian mining and extraction companies, and that there is a statistically significant impact for each dimension of strategic alliance on re-engineering process, and there is a significant role for quality of work life in the impact of strategic alliance on re-engineering process at Jordanian mining and extraction companies.

     The study recommended the involvement of managers in Jordanian extractive and mining companies in making decisions related to choosing the appropriate strategic partner, so that there is a cooperative relationship that includes all development activities in order to strengthen the relationship with the consumer, supplier and related parties, and to give greater attention to the process design team, by ensuring this work flow if it is the organization desires excellence and survival in competition, because the wheel of development is in constant continuity and looking towards the future.
