The research aimed to shed light on Jordanian laws that sought civil protection from the damages of infringement through social media, as personal data is exposed to many risks and attacks from its collection, storage and publication. Therefore, the researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach to analyze the pillars of civil liability and its effects, and from there he reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The purpose of enacting the Personal Data Protection Law is to protect the person from the attack that may obtain his private data, and the controls set by the laws that must be taken into account and respected when carrying out any processing operations to determine the protection of this data may not be sufficient. Therefore, the person concerned with the processing is granted some rights over his data, and the aim of this is to prevent infringement and violation of it whenever it is subject to violation, such as the right to view personal data and object to it, the right to respond and correct, in addition to the right to be forgotten. I also recommend the necessity of establishing special legislation to protect personal data similar to what is in effect in France and Arab countries such as Egyptian legislation and other legislations that have special laws to protect such data, and forming a committee specialized in notification and licensing when processing personal data
