Abstract
This study revolves around an important topic in the field of Islamic legal theory (Usul al-Fiqh). In our contemporary era, modern technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI) have emerged, necessitating a specialized study to determine the extent to which these technologies can be employed in revitalizing the field of Islamic legal theory and serving its research and principles. The study also aims to establish guidelines for this application and examine the relevant areas.
The study aims to clarify the concepts of renewing Islamic legal theory and artificial intelligence, to establish the foundations for employing AI technologies in this field, and to define the guidelines, boundaries, and areas of application for such use.
The researcher employed an inductive approach by examining the texts of legal theorists to understand the concepts of renewing Islamic legal theory and artificial intelligence. She also used a foundational approach to establish the foundations for employing AI in renewing Islamic legal theory, and a deductive approach to determine the guidelines and areas of application. The study concluded that employing artificial intelligence in the renewal of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) means directing modern AI tools and integrating and utilizing them to serve and revitalize the field of Usul al-Fiqh. This contributes to organizing its content, analyzing foundational texts, and improving the understanding of Islamic legal texts, keeping pace with contemporary developments within the framework of Islamic legal principles, and without compromising the sanctity, established principles, and objectives of Islamic legal texts.
