The Effectiveness of Using Active Learning Strategy in Improving Achievement of Elementary Students with Learning Difficulties in Marka District Directorate

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the active learning strategy in improving achievement of students with learning difficulties for the elementary stage, a quasi- experimental approach was used, the study sample was intentionally selected from the elementary stage students in a school affiliated to the Marka District directorate Jordan, the number of the sample was (38) male and female students with learning difficulties. To achieve the objectives of the study, the study tool was built, which consisted of the following: A achievement test that consisted of (20) items, and it was applied before and after study on members. The results showed the effectiveness of using the active learning strategy in improving the academic achievement of students with learning difficulties for the basic stage in Marka district, it also showed the effectiveness of using the active learning strategy in improving the academic achievement of students with learning difficulties in field of letter knowledge, word analysis, visual discrimination, and reading a word consisting of (3) letters or more. The researcher recommended the necessity of holding training courses for resource room teachers on the use of active learning in teaching students with learning difficulties.
