Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a counseling supervision program based on discrimination model (DM) to strengthen sense of professional identity and reducing performance anxiety level among sample of new educational counselors in Jordan. The sample of the study consisted of 22 new educational counselors. In this study, a sense of professional identity scale, consisted of 19 items, and a performance anxiety scale, consisted of 30 items, were used. The participants were randomly assigned into two groups: experimental group included (11) counselors, who received a program of (DM) consisted of (12) sessions; and a control group consisted of (11) counselors, who did not receive the counseling program. The post-test results showed that were significant differences between the two groups regarding the level of sense of professional identity and performance anxiety in favor of experimental group.
