Abstract

The aim of this study is to inspect the adequacy of quality assurance standards and their role in achieving the academic program for the preparation of the teacher of theatrical arts at the University of Jordan from the  students' attitudes.  The study sample consisted  of (53) students who are studying in the field of theatrical arts.  The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, due to its suitability to the nature and objectives of the study. The study had a number of findings, the most important of which was the necessity of reviewing the materials and courses, especially in relation to the laboratory applications the role of which is obvious in enhancing the student's abilities in acting and directing. The study showed that there is an application of each of the quality assurance standards in the program of preparing the teachers of theatrical arts at the University of Jordan except for the field of facilities and technical equipment, which indicates the lack of adequacy to apply this standard, and in view of the results, the study issued a number of recommendations for the educational process, including: The need to review the program of preparation of the teacher of theatrical arts in accordance with the standards of ensuring Arab and international quality assurance standards, and planning these programs on a quantitative and qualitative basis, providing the academic program, supplies and technical equipment needed, and keeping up with the technical and technological developments in educational theater to serve the diverse fields of studies according to the quality standards system.
