Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the extent to which science teachers use project- based learning in teaching science and the factors affecting this use for the Academic year (2023-2024). The sample of the study which was selected randomly consisted of 120 teachers out of 158 male and female teachers. A questionnaire and an interview were used to collect data. To achieve the purpose of the study, validity and reliability were verified. Means and standard deviations were calculated and the qualitative data was analyzed.  The Results revealed that  the teachers do not prefer to use project learning due to lack of experience, qualification, and training before and during service. As for the factors affecting teachers’ use of project-based learning, the administrative ones ranked first. Such results agreed with the results of the interview conducted with the science teachers. The study recommended the need to overcome the difficulties that negatively affect science teachers’ use of project-based learning
