Abstract

The study aimed to the The reality of applying knowledge management processes and its impact on institutional excellence in the Directorate of Education Southern Shuna.

The study population consist of (116) managers in top management (general manager, specific manager) middle management (Department Heads, School principals) Executive management (Department members), A survey strategy was used, whereby a questionnaire was designed and distributed to the population as a whole to apply the study, and retrieved (97) questionnaires valid for statistical analysis, at rate (83.6%).

The study used the descriptive analytical method to reach the results, where the study was explanatory in terms of purpose, and quantitative in terms of mechanism and procedures.

The study found a statically significant effect at a significant level (α ≤ 0.05) of knowledge management processes with its dimensions (Discovering knowledge, possessing knowledge, sharing knowledge, applying knowledge) on institutional excellence in the Directorate of Education of the Southern Shuna.

It was also found that the coefficients of (Discovering knowledge, applying knowledge)of the dimensions of knowledge management processes were significant, while the coefficients of (possessing knowledge, sharing knowledge)were not significant.

Finally, the study recommended a set of recommendations, including reconsidering the administrative structure of education directorates, creating a specialized department to follow up on the level of knowledge application, working to introduce technology and techniques that support knowledge management processes to activate the impact of the dimensions of knowledge possession and knowledge application from knowledge management processes to enhancing the institutional excellence of the education directorate Southern Shouna.
