“Good Governance and its Impact on the Organizational Commitment: the Moderating Role of Social Responsibility in Jordan Customs Department”

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the good governance and its impact on the organizational commitment in Jordan Customs Department in the presence of the social responsibility as a modifying factor for this impact. The study community consists of all the employees of Jordan Customs department and its Customs border offices. The number of employees was (3538) and it consists of (646) employees in the main department, and (2892) employees in Customs border offices. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the study tool (the questionnaire). The questionnaire consisted of (67) items. The researcher also used a simple random sample to represent the study community, and published the questionnaire electronically through the internal intranet of Jordan Customs Department, (367) questionnaires were retrieved, and it was found that (348) of them were valid for statistical analysis.
The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: There is a statistically significant effect of good governance and its dimensions at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) on organizational commitment its combined dimensions in Jordan Customs Department and its Customs offices. and There is a statistically significant effect of social responsibility in improving the impact of good governance and its dimensions at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) on the organizational commitment and its combined dimensions in Jordan Customs department and its Customs offices.
Depending on the results of the study, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:
- Promoting the concept of good governance among Jordan Customs department employees' and its Customs offices and the notions it contains. In order to achieve the organizational commitment of employees that is reflected in the achievement of the mission, vision, and goals of the Jordan Customs Department.
- Enhancing the concept of organizational commitment and its dimensions among the department's employees as it has an impact on increasing their loyalty and affiliation towards their duties and responsibilities at work.
- The continuity of analyzing the strengths, weaknesses and feedback in Jordan Customs Department.
- The necessity of finding a mechanism to deal with the issues and violations related to the integrity with the highest levels of firmness and seriousness.
